Governor appoints Global Associates CEO Bob Morris to biotechnology task force

MEMPHIS – Tennessee Gov. Don Sundquist has appointed Bob Morris, CEO of Global Associates, LLC, to serve on the state's newly formed Biotechnology Task Force.

Representatives from the fields of education, economic development, finance and business will be serving on this task force to study the current status of the biotechnology industry in the Volunteer State and make recommendations designed to promote the future development of this sector.

Bob Morris is CEO of Global Associates and a partner in the law firm Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Canada & Stevens, PLLC. He has worked with several biotech companies in Tennessee. Bob will chair the first meeting of the task force being hosted in Memphis on 14-15 November, 2001.

Gov. Sundquist has asked the Biotechnology Task Force to submit a final report by July 2002.

Global Associates announces the formation of subsidiary Global Consulting

MEMPHIS – Global Associates announced the formation of a new subsidiary named Global Consulting today.

Global Consulting will provide a suite of services for startup companies based in the Mid-South including business plan development, strategic planning and capital formation. The new unit will ultimately focus on the growing biotechnology community that has developed in Memphis.

Global has hired Wayne Culbreth to head the new venture as Managing Director.
